However, all ranges started to tank out at 15, and all were completely dead at 16. In fact, there was a difference between our 85 and 89 rolls. Higher-range weapons had measurably less damage dropoff at the same distances, significant but not huge, even after the 60 and 70 values. Here are some takeaways and conclusions from this data: Here are the numbers presented as "crit / body / precision multiplier." I used four different shotguns: two Blasphemer sand two First In, Last Outs, with varying range stats. But these threads and videos about range cap were causing me to doubt what I should be looking for in my rolls, so I decided to test it out for myself.īelow, you'll find a table with damage numbers from a few different ranges, with a few different range stats. It seems obvious, right? Do more damage at greater distances. As I farmed my First In, my initial impulse was to try for a lot of range. Almost all of them were examining Slugs in their original context before the Arrivals buff: PvP. So I spent some time farming a few rolls to see what I liked, and while researching, I found a few videos and threads stating that "slug shotguns have a range cap." Some of these threads claimed it was around 60. And they do very well! Unfortunately, there's currently only one Sluggie that will not be sunset at the end of Season of Arrivals: First In, Last Out, the reprised version from Exodus Engrams. I've been spending this season using these weapons in PvE much more than I ever had. Don't worry, though-with the buff, even a body shot will do decent damage. The advantages of slugs are a few extra meters of range with some bigger damage, and the drawback is you have to hit your crits! Good thing the Knight Echoes have big, fat heads. They're not head and shoulders above all other special weapons, mind you, but they are strong and have their place in the PvE sandbox now, including high-level content. That's a lot! And now, they're the highest-damage shotgun archetype in the game. So they received a flat 30% damage increase in PvE. And that's fair, because until now, they have been mainly seen as, functionally, PvP weapons. This was likely reactionary to their low usage numbers outside of PvP. As many of you know, Slug Precision Frame Shotguns got a big buff in PvE this season. Who finally got a PS4? Norsefenrir! Happy birthday! Who finally got a PS4? >!Norsefenrir!
